Behind the Scenes with Better Life February 2019

Showing Your Love

It’s February, the month of love, and the month of my birthday in case anyone might want to know... (You may have heard I enjoy the occasional maple donut.)

Yes, February, the month of love. I recall as a little kid my mom would purchase a pack of Valentine cards to pass out at school. Some cards would read, “Would you be my Valentine” and “Lets be friends,” etc. Now as a 1st or 2nd grader I must note that there was no romantic motivation to hand out valentine cards, but it was simply a way of saying “Hey, you’re important to me.”

Today isn’t much different. We continue to send cards... thank you cards, Christmas cards and, yep, Valentine cards to those who impact our lives in one way or another.

You know, I’ll have to say that about your monthly financial gifts, too. They are kinda like a valentine card. They say you care about Better Life and that you love the souls that are being won through the ministry!

When Jesus was replying to the question that a scribe asked regarding the most important commandment, he said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:37-39.

Neither of these we can do outside of God giving us the heart to love Him and others. I find that amazing! In what other way can I have a burning desire to see a stranger on the street come to know Jesus except that the Holy Spirit would implant that kind of love in me?

Just today we received a voicemail message from a lady who said, “I have nothing, no family, money or friends. Better Life is my only family. Thank you for being there for me.” Wow! We’re so glad God has a ministry like Better Life to fill that current need.

In order to reach even more for Him, we are introducing a new project that needs funding. We call this project SHARE. It is simple. There are many people who’d love to received Better Life, but they are technically challenged and may be on a fixed income. (This seems to be the case for many of our elderly friends.) So the idea is this: If you’d be willing to send $35 (or any amount) above your regular donation and specify it as a “SHARE” gift, we’ll take a Better Life pre-programmed Roku device and install it in their home.

We will also be needing help to install and would love to enlist helpers in different areas who are comfortable installing these simple devices. If you’d like to help with installing these please contact us here at Better Life.

We know there is a great demand for receiving Better Life through new technologies which are more reliable and less expensive to deliver. These technologies also make Better Life available anywhere in the world.

So please SHARE the gift of love in February. Any amount you send for SHARE will purchase and setup Roku devices to share Jesus with a world that is seeking meaning and purpose in life. Let’s SHARE Jesus, who is the answer. - KB

Meet the Better Life Team!

Hi, my name is Rebekah Hill, and I work in the programming department at Better Life. I also co-host the “Catching the Light” program. I grew up in Tennessee, spent two years in India, and have been on several mission trips to a closed country. I’m married to Daniel Hill, who works here in production. I am a teacher by training, but I’m enjoying the challenge of working with technology. I like to learn and I love people! -RH

“Boots ‘n Bibles” is a new cowboy church themed program!

Better Life is pleased to announce a brand new series that we’ve been working on for quite some time. It’s called, “Boots ‘n Bibles” and it’s a program especially for the cowboy and cowgirl at heart. It includes good gospel country, gospel bluegrass and Southern gospel music along with solid down to earth teachings from the word of God!

So join Kip Bradford and our friends from the Gateway Seventh-day Adventist church each week for “Boots ‘n Bibles!”

And if you live in the area, you’re welcome to attend cowboy church personally. It’s the first Saturday of each month. Call Better Life Broadcasting at (541) 474-3089 for more details.

Check out our programming schedule for airing days and times. The program is clearly marked with a bold, “New” symbol.

Thank you for supporting the outreach ministry of Better Life.

This month is the debut of our much anticipated new program, “Boots ‘n Bibles!” You’ll find our program schedule HERE and this new program is promiently marked with a “New!” icon. Also, scroll down for an article all about this new country-flavored program.

We’ve also added 3ABN Sabbath school to Friday at 10 AM.

By now you should have received your year-end tax receipt from Better Life. If that is not the case please contact us ASAP so we can send you another one. Many people need these to do their taxes. Thanks so much for your financial support throughout 2018!

We’ve been busy overhauling our website and you’re going to love the new look! The final touches are being applied and soon you’ll be able to see our much needed upgrade!

One new feature on the site will be separate pages for each of our main Better Life programs. For example, you’ll now be able to go to our “Catching the Light” page where every program in the series is listed with a link to each video. The same goes for “Stories of Faith”. Now you’ll be able to make sure you see any programs you may have missed!

One Minute Survey

Here’s a link to a quick online survey. This short survey will help us make plans for today as well as show us how we can better serve you in the future. We really appreciate you taking a minute to fill it out.
