GOD IS THERE

I was looking up into the night sky several days ago and saw... nothing.  Not a single star, nor the moon, was able to penetrate the gray expanse of clouds, brightened only by the lights of the city.  Life can be like that sometimes when the gloom seems to overwhelm. In those moments of darkness, we know God exists, but are unable to see His light.

The disciples were feeling a similar gloom as they huddled together in that upper room, dreams shattered with the death of their Lord.  They had not understood His words, as He described the coming events, and were left despondent as they looked forward to a future that had no resemblance to their expectations from just a few days before. Then, four words penetrated the darkness: peace be with you. Calming words spoken to the disciples in their moment of despair, and calming words spoken to us now.

Tonight, as I write this, I look up and see both stars and the moon shining down upon me. These are not new stars... all were present several days ago when they were obscured by the gloom. And our Savior?  He is here as well, with a peace that passes understanding even, or perhaps especially, when the burdens of this world seem too distance us from His loving care.

I am thankful to serve a God that is not swayed by current events. He holds us, loves us, and provides a calm refuge for us in the storms of this life. And, through the Better Life ministry, we have the awesome privilege of introducing others to Him! Thank you for joining me in telling others about our awesome God!- CO

“When I Try to Call You I Get Sick”

The lady on the line said that when she tried to call Better Life a sick feeling came upon her, but when she tried calling another Christian denomination’s ministry there was no problem, what was going on?

Her story actually begins quite a few decades ago. She shared with us that at the tender age of three years old she had been deeply traumatized by the death of her sister, and because of this, she had greatly feared death her whole life. 

As she continued sharing various parts of her life with us she also mentioned that she had a relative who had been involved in the occult and she thought that this also might have had an effect on her. 

Then about a year ago she discovered Better Life and began watching the channel. She said she really appreciated how Better Life focuses on teaching directly from the Bible and that during this time she has been learning some wonderful things. So a few weeks ago she called us saying that she wanted to be rebaptized and asked if we could help connect her with a local Seventh-day Adventist pastor. This we were happy to do.

But now here she was trying to call us again and she started feeling very ill. At this point our staff member asked her if she thought that perhaps Satan was trying to keep her from contacting us and she replied, “Yes.”

Upon hearing this our staff member decided that it would be a good idea to bring in some spiritual reinforcements and he called for additional staff members to gather near the speaker phone so we could have a group prayer with her and ask God to break whatever power Satan might be trying to wield against her. After several staff prayed this lady was in tears. She said, “I knew if I called you that you’d know what to do! I’m sitting up now and I don’t feel sick! I think I’m free!”

We’re sure that this dear lady would appreciate your prayers as she continues to let the Lord lead in her life.

We received another call from a lady in Reno, Nevada who simply wanted prayer. She explained her situation to us saying that her mom is disabled and she is helping to take care of her. But even more sad was that her brother had died the month before and she was the one who had found him. She also shared that she suffers from depression and anxiety but thankfully because of the Better Life TV station in Reno she had someone to call, someone who would pray with her. Praise the Lord!

A lady named Sara from Corona, California called us saying that she had discovered our programs online and had been enjoying the faith-building stories. We were happy to be able to send her a copy of the Messiah sharing book. She called back later asking if we could recommend an Adventist church for her daughter to visit and we were able to give her a couple of options in her area. 

One of our local viewers recently shared that her neighbors were looking for a recommendation of a TV station to watch and when they asked if she had a suggestion she said, “Yes, watch Better Life!” When they asked what kind of channel it was, she said, “Just watch!”

We also had a lady named Jackie from San Diego contact us via Facebook after finding Stories of Faith on YouTube. She wrote, “Thank you sooo soo much for what you do. Listening to your stories have not only brought positivity into my life but it has brought me closer to God. I’m going through a lot of challenges right now and I start my day by first praying and then listening and watching your videos...Please pray for me and my family.”

Friends, isn’t it wonderful to see people from all over the country contacting Better Life after discovering its Christ-centered programming? 

As the last few moments of Earth’s history pass the Lord is using Better Life and its worldwide reach to teach and encourage people we could have only dreamed of reaching a few short years ago. Thank you so much for praying for and for financially supporting this end-time evangelistic endeavor!

PROGRAM UPDATES ARE COMING!
New updates are coming to Better Life! First, Stories of Faith is being upgraded into its own separate program. Up till now it has been a part of the Better Life Today series, but we realized that it really should be its own distinct program. As a result a new warm cozy set has been designed and built and new graphics are being created too. We’ll have more to share soon.

Secondly, we are also refurbishing the Better Life Today set with new decor and a new wall color! Brand new interviews and features will be recorded soon.

You may have also noticed some new Bible text breaks playing in between our programs. Our own staff member/nature photographer John Dale has been using his amazing photographic skills to record some beautiful scenes including a full rainbow over the ocean. Keep an eye out for these beautiful new breaks!
