WHAT IS TRUTH?

What is truth? These words, spoken long ago when Pilate was when facing our Savior, seem to resonate more clearly than ever in 2021. What is truth?

As I read Scripture, I am struck by how often the Bible characters who were best situated to see and understand truth simply missed it! The Jewish leaders? They of all people should have been truth seekers. The disciples? They were in the presence of the Lord daily, and yet so often seemed to miss the truth that was right before them.  But then, conversely, we have the wonderful story of the Roman centurion. As far as we know, this decorated military leader was not a follower of Christ, yet we read that he recognized the authority in the Person before him, in fact before he even met Jesus!  Thus, through his faith and the power of Christ, the centurion received healing for his servant. I believe that the centurion’s love for his servant, a love that can only come through God, opened the centurion’s eyes to see the truth within the stories he must have heard about this Man, Jesus Christ.

Friends, the ability to recognize truth does not come from position, but is instead a gift from God. As Jesus said, “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13 KJV. Truth is received through immersion in the Word of God and the willingness to allow Jesus to enter into our hearts and minds. Only through Jesus and the Holy Spirit can we know the truth when we see it, and act upon it in faith.

And of course we want others to know the truth too! At Better Life we begin each day in prayer, lifting up our praises and petitions, seeking God’s guidance as we broadcast truth into communities around the world. Won’t you join us in this endeavor? Let’s allow His light to shine through us into our homes and communities. May God continue to bless each of us as we reflect the truth of His love to those around us! CO

“I Want to Be Re-Baptized”

We received a wonderful call from a dear lady in Medford, Oregon, who has been watching Better Life TV for about a year now. After learning some new things from the Bible she decided that she wanted to be re-baptized! We happily put her in touch with her local Seventh-day Adventist pastor to help her with that. She also told us that she loves watching Boots ‘n Bibles and Stories of Faith. She even asked for a copy of the Sabbath School lesson so she could follow along. 

Interestingly we had a lady call us the other day saying that she was a member of another denomination that also keeps the Sabbath and that she and her church friend both watch Better Life TV. I’m sure they must appreciate our focus on the biblical Sabbath!

We got a call from across the country from a lady in the Washington, DC, area. She told us that many times she has heard us say in our program that people can watch Better Life using Roku. So when her friends bought a Roku, she was able to tell them about Better Life. Now her friends are watching the channel too! She also plans to tell some more Spanish-speaking friends about the Better Life Spanish channel, Vida Mejor TV. Glad to hear the word is getting out!

Linda is a friend of Better Life and recently she sent a link to our Stories of Faith videos to a Native American friend of hers who is not a Seventh-day Adventist. She wrote back to Linda saying, “Through you I was introduced to this amazing program of Stories of Faith. I have never come upon it before and there has been times when I did online searches for short stories of miracles but not ‘stories of faith.’ I am enjoying listening to these stories and being taught or encouraged. Thank you for introducing me to Stories of Faith!”

A dear lady from Connecticut contacted us asking if we would pray for her as she has debilitating anxiety. We are so glad she felt comfortable to reach out to Better Life and we’d like to ask you to join us praying for her complete healing of this affliction. We know she would appreciate it.

A dear 84-year-old lady contacted us from Klamath Falls, Oregon. She wanted to thank us for praying for her granddaughter to get out of a destructive lifestyle and to report that God had answered our prayers! She told us that she is the prayer warrior in her family and we encouraged her with the truth that prayer is certainly an important job.

In these last days it’s exciting that God has a voice like Better Life that can reach through walls and across cities to minister to those seeking truth. Thank you for all of your support, either by prayers by finances. Soon the work will be finished and we and those who we’ve won will be in the kingdom forever!

SAD BUT THANKFUL
They say all good things must come to an end, so we are very sad to share that our dear friends Tony and Sayuri Rodriguez will be moving from Oregon to Mississippi this month. 

Pastor Tony and Sayuri have accepted a call to pastor two churches in Mississippi, and we know that they will be a blessing to their new congregations. 

Over the years they have helped Better Life by being the directors of our Spanish channel, Vida Mejor TV, and Sayuri has also worked in Master Control and been a co-host on Stories of Faith. While it’s hard to say goodbye we are thankful for the time we had together AND that Sayuri will continue to help with Stories of Faith!
