“GOD IS GOOD”
by Charlie Oliver,
Executive Director of Better Life
The view from the top of Eight Dollar Mountain was amazing. The dark green pines contrasting beautifully with the bright blue sky, the brisk fall air, and the pops of autumn color from the maples all combined to take my breath away. It was my first time up Eight Dollar, the road more treacherous than expected, but that all faded from my mind as I surveyed the beauty of God’s nature. It wasn’t easy to pull myself away, and back to the task at hand of performing maintenance on the site’s transmitter.
I feel myself leaning into God when, in moments of stress, I reflect upon passages such as Isaiah 41:10 (ESV):
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you in My righteous right hand.”
I think God knows how much I need these glimpses of His glory, taking time away from my daily checklist to gaze in wonder at the beauty of His creation. Even now, as I sit in my office chair writing this, I need only lean back, close my eyes, and reflect upon His protection as I climbed the mountain road, saw sunlight up ahead, and arrived at the peak to see the beautiful serenity of the surrounding hills and valleys. As I reflect, I feel my pulse slow, and the tension of a busy day eases from my body. God is good!
When people turn on the television and tune into Better Life, I believe God uses that very moment to reach out to His people. God is using Better Life to remind viewers that they are not alone, and that they are loved by their Creator. I want to personally thank you for enabling us to continue reaching out over the airways in His name. God bless you. - CO

WILL I SEE MY MOM AGAIN?
A viewer contacted us via email saying that she had been a Christian for around 20 years. About a year ago she lost her mom to cancer. She said that it had been very hard on her. Although she feels she has a good relationship with the Lord this event shook her faith and she wondered if this life was really all there was and then we just die. She prayed to God saying, “Please be real... please bring mom back one day.” She just longed for some assurance.
Then she saw a program on Better Life that talked about God’s power being manifest to raise people from the dead. As she listened she was greatly encouraged and wrote, “Now I feel like I can rest knowing I will see mom again.”
But there was more. She said that the program had also encouraged her to pray more for some dear family members she is concerned about. It’s so wonderful to see the Lord using Better Life to encourage and uplift His people as we near the close of time.
It’s also a joy to hear from people all around the country. A lady named Jeanette let us know that she was watching Better Life from Apopka, Florida, and at other times she would watch from Naranjito, Puerto Rico, via Roku! That’s the great thing about streaming video, you can take it with you when you travel.
Recently, staff member Jeanette Stark shared her testimony on the air (It’s also on our YouTube channel right now.) and in response a lady from New Zealand emailed her saying, “I wanted to say thank you for sharing so openly your life and that it was very encouraging to me at this time in my life... May I share something of myself with you? I look forward to hearing from you when you are able.”
It’s interesting to note that we also received a second email from a different lady in New Zealand who was also touched by Jeanette’s testimony. It’s so amazing that God is extending the reach of Better Life throughout the world!
A viewer from Klamath Falls, Oregon, contacted us to let us know that she enjoys watching Pastor Kip Bradford on Catching the Light and Boots ‘n Bibles. She requested a list of the programs Better Life produces in case she wants to order some DVD’s.
A woman in Medford was “very happy” when the lady who runs the adult foster care home where she lives got cable and she was once again able to watch Better Life after losing the signal a while ago! She said she loves Boots ‘n Bibles and the Better Life Today Bible study program.
Lastly, we were excited to learn of yet another upcoming baptism in Eugene for a lady who had been watching Better Life and was convinced that it had the truth about the Bible. Last March she called her local Adventist church. Our Better Life ambassadors, Michael and Marvis Remboldt, have been studying with her and they tell us that her husband has joined in the Bible study too! Her baptism is scheduled for the middle of this month. Praise the Lord!
Friends, all of these wonderful stories keep coming in month after month and they are due to the blessing of God and your faithful prayers and financial support. Thank you so much for helping the message get out to the world!
Thank you for supporting the outreach ministry of Better Life.

Henry C. Martin
SAYING FAREWELL TO A DEAR FRIEND
We are sad to report the passing of our dear friend Henry C. Martin on October 7th, 2021. No doubt many of our viewers will remember Henry from his role as a Better Life Today host from 2005 through 2015. His friendly on-screen demeanor mirrored his positive and upbeat personality.
It would be difficult to sum up the life of Henry Martin in the short space available here, but here are some of the highlights:
Henry served in the U.S. Army and National Security Agency. He met his wife Robin in Grants Pass, Oregon, and they had two children. Henry also owned Auto Martin, a car dealership in Grants Pass. Besides work Henry also made numerous volunteer mission trips around the world and it’s estimated he visited over 70 countries. On Better Life TV Henry conducted over 190 interviews! Henry loved the Lord and his church family. His last few years were complicated by Parkinson’s plus syndrome and dementia. Henry was a dedicated worker for the Lord and he will be greatly missed.
